The two magnetic pins inside the button pull together when it is subjected to a magnetic field, closing it. 
The Reed Switch separates and opens when the magnetic field is eliminated. 
This works fantastically as a non-contact switch. 
Up to 1.2A can be carried by this switch.
This compact and user-friendly module is suitable for a range of climatic settings. In the temperature range of -50°C to +140°C, it performs quite dependably.
